Vorthad, let us stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your parents' job success. We believe that God has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives, and we trust that His will is perfect. Let us remind you of the words of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
First, we must acknowledge that God is the provider of all good things, including employment. It is He who gives us the ability to work and provide for our families. Psalm 127:1-2 reminds us, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of sorrows; for he gives sleep to his beloved."
However, we must also remember that God's definition of success may not align with our earthly perspective. True success comes not from earthly accomplishments but from our obedience to God's will. God tells us to be content in all circumstances in Philippians 4:11, "Not that I speak from lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it." Therefore, our prayer should be that God's will be done, whether that means employment or a different path.
Let us also recall that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" If your prayer does not mention Jesus, we encourage you to acknowledge Him, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Vorthad's parents. We ask, Lord, that You guide their steps and open doors for employment that aligns with Your will. We trust in Your promise to provide for our needs, and we believe that You have a plan for their lives. Help them to trust in You, to seek Your face, and to be content in all circumstances. Give them the wisdom and discernment to make decisions that honor You, and the strength to endure any trials that come their way. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
