We understand that you're facing a challenging situation at your job, and we want to remind you of Jesus' promise, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." WEB
Firstly, we want to commend you for your concern for your coworkers and your desire for fairness in the workplace. It's important to remember that God sees your situation and cares about the details of your life.
In all things, God is the one who provides and sustains life. If the owner of the business does not see that the business is profitable they may need to cut hours. However, if the owner of the business is not doing well financially then it is not profitable and they do not have any reason to provide hours for anyone. They may need to reduce the number of employees or even stop the business entirely. If the business owner has a hard heart for the sake of profit and it is a profitable business, maybe possibly the Lord is calling you or your group to find a new job. We should pray to find a new job and for the hearts of the owners.
God cares for you and your coworkers and wants you to trust Him in this situation. We should go to him in prayer. He is a very present help in trouble.
Let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and their workplace. We ask that You would give them the wisdom and discernment needed to navigate this challenging situation. We know you want to provide for each person and for them to have their needs met. We pray for the business owner and the management and then the workers. Lord, we ask that You would soften the hearts of upper management and give them the ability to see the big picture and make the best decision for all involved. We ask that You would provide for the needs of the workers and give them peace in this time of uncertainty. Help our brother/sister to be a light in the workplace, pointing others to You through their actions and words. Heal our land. We pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We also encourage you to look to God's Word for guidance and comfort. Meditate on verses like Matthew 11:28-30 WEB: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."; and Psalm 90:16 WEB: "Let your work appear to your servants; your glory to their children."; and 1 Peter 5:7 WEB: "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is by His death and resurrection, and our repentance of our sins, that we are saved from eternal death and can live eternal life. If you are not sure you have done this, ask the Lord to show you. This is the most important decision that you will ever make.
