We are truly saddened to hear about the challenges your son is facing, Onam. We will stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for his job and marriage.
Firstly, let's remember what the Bible says about work and provision. In 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (WEB), it is written, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, donโt let him eat.' For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who donโt work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are this way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread." We pray that God will open up job opportunities for your son, that he may find work to provide for his needs and be a productive member of society.
Regarding the divorce and the demands from his wife, we must remember that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16). Marriage is a sacred institution designed by God, and every effort should be made to reconcile and restore the relationship. In Matthew 19:6 (WEB), Jesus says, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate."
However, we also acknowledge that there are instances where reconciliation may not be possible due to unrepentant sin or unreasonable demands. In such cases, we must trust in God's justice and sovereignty. We pray that God will soften your daughter-in-law's heart, turning her away from greed and towards a spirit of understanding and reconciliation.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Onam's son. Lord, we ask that you provide him with a suitable job, one that will not only meet his financial needs but also allow him to use his gifts and talents for your glory. We pray for peace and reconciliation in his marriage. Turn his wife's heart away from greed and towards a willingness to honor her marriage vows. If reconciliation is not your will, we ask that you guide them both through this difficult time, providing wisdom, comfort, and a sense of your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Onam, continue to trust in the Lord, knowing that He hears your prayers. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
