We are so glad that you have reached out for help with your liquor addiction, and that you have called upon the name of Jesus. It is only in His name that we have access to God the Father and find salvation. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Firstly, let us address the addiction. We know that this is a struggle for you, but remember that God is faithful. He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, and He will provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
In John 8:36 WEB, Jesus says, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." This is a promise that you can claim. Jesus can and will break the chains of addiction in your life, but you must be willing to turn away from it and follow Him wholeheartedly.
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with liquor addiction. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for their life, and we ask that You break these chains of addiction. Give them the strength to resist the temptation to drink, and provide a way out for them.
Father, we also pray for their heart. May they draw near to You during this time, and may Your Holy Spirit guide and comfort them. Help them to fully surrender their life to You, and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God loves you and He wants the best for you. Trust in Him, and He will help you to overcome this addiction. Also, surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you in your journey to sobriety. As it says in Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Lastly, if you have not already, consider seeking professional help or a support group to assist you in your journey to sobriety. There is no shame in asking for help, and God often uses others to help us in our times of need.
