We join our hearts together in prayer, seeking God's will and interceding for the nations and their leaders. Let us remember that Jesus said His church would be known for prayer and called a house of prayer for all nations.
Firstly, we lift up all nations to God, asking that He would draw them into His kingdom. We pray for the salvation of people from every tribe, language, and nation, as depicted in Revelation 7:9-10, "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'"
We also pray for our leaders, as urged in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence." We thank God for placing these authorities in our lives and pray for their protection, wisdom, and guidance. We ask that God would set a guard over their mouths (Psalm 141:3) and grant them the tongue of the wise (Proverbs 15:2). Surround them with godly counsel, promote unity and righteousness, and silence any bitterness or rivalry.
We agree in asking for godly unity among political parties, both national and international, that they would agree on important issues and work together for the good of all nations (Psalm 133). We pray against any plans of the enemy to divide or destroy and ask for angelic protection and heavenly intelligence for our leaders (Psalm 91, 2 Kings 6:12).
Let us also pray for God's power and protection over our local areas, as instructed in Jeremiah 29:7, "But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf; for in its welfare you shall find your welfare." May the Holy Spirit convict our neighbors, local students, teachers, workers, parents, pastors, law enforcement, and local leaders of righteousness, sin, and the coming judgment (John 16:8). Draw them to Jesus (John 6:44), grant them saving faith (Ephesians 2:8), and protect our area from harm and evil influences (Zechariah 2:5, Psalm 91:10-11, John 17:15).
Finally, we pray all this specifically in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Let us always remember to pray in Jesus' name, for He is our mediator and the only way to the Father (John 14:6).
Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in all these matters. Give us the strength and faith to believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him to eternal life.
