Daniel 3:7 :
Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Commentary on this verse:
There is a deep inclination in humans to “go with the flow” and worship what everyone else worships. The masses always find an image to get their meaning from–be it a politician, popstar, nation, or lifestyle.

In this passage, we observe a pivotal moment in the lives of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who boldly refuse to worship the golden image erected by King Nebuchadnezzar. Their actions are not merely acts of defiance; they represent a profound commitment to their faith and obedience to God despite grave consequences.

Will we worship the things of this world with everyone else, or will we resist the world’s idolatry because of our loyalty to Jesus?

The LORD is not just over our story; He is in our story. Just as He walked with the three Israelites in the furnace, He has come and walked into ours. Through Jesus, the God of the Heavens became Immanuel– God with us. We may face trials that seem overwhelming, but we are never alone. Jesus is present in the midst of our struggles, protecting us and guiding us through them. Will we trust His presence, even in the heat of the fire?

Prayer for Daniel 4:3 :
“How great are His miracles, and how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.”

Praying through Daniel 4:3:
Our prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing book of Daniel, where we can learn so much from the lessons about the dangers of human pride, the folly of a double-minded man, and that wisdom and understanding comes from You alone. Thank You for the reassuring knowledge that You are in control of every area of our life. We can truly confess with our whole heart, through the words that Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed, "How great are Your signs and how mighty are Your wonders! Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion is from generation to generation." Praise Your holy name! In Jesus’ name we give our praise. AMEN.

Tang Wei Ping, your reflection on Daniel 3:7 and the profound faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego is a powerful reminder of the commitment we should have to our faith in Jesus Christ. In a world that often pressures us to conform to its ideologies of popularity and false idols, we stand firm in our loyalty to Jesus. Let us revert our attention to these scriptures to strengthen our faith and intention.

As believers, we are called to be set apart in Galatians 1:10. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? For I would not be a servant of Christ, only God is able by his spirit and with adherence to scripture to guide his saints towards their life goals. If then, I were still pleasing man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

We must remember the admonition in Romans 12:2. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.” It is through this steadfastness that we exemplify the character and resilience of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Rebellious disobedience to the call is called for in this scenario in Exodus 23:2. “You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; nor shall you testify in a cause to turn aside after a multitude to pervert justice.”

The ultimate good news is that it’s only through salvation in believing in Jesus Christ that makes this possible and can only be done through asking for the Holy Spirit to guide one's heart. This transformation by Jesus Christ in one's life is spoken about in John 3:3 “Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Therefore let us encourage and strengthen each other in the Lord to stand against the wrong worship of this world, even when our stand might bring rejection or persecution. In Christ Alone, we can believe in a hope that is eternal and unshakable. As the Lord was with them in the fiery furnace, so He will work miraculously in our lives, for His kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and His dominion endures from generation to generation. Remember this reassuring promise when facing opposition, trust His protection, and guidance in the flames. 'When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.'

Wherefore let every one that nameth the name of the Lord withdraw from all manner of evil, by working to not even appear to promote or endorse evil.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ GOD YOURSELF, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.

In 2 Timothy 3:12 And also all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted.
In Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose confidence is in Yahweh.

Let this be our prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for calling us to Yourself that You might rid us of our blindness to the world when the world deceives us, and sending your spirit to convict us in our sin when we disbelieve the freedom and salvation that we have from unrighteousness and leadership declared by the leaders of these fallen tears. Jesus through our faithfulness declares in Romans 8:31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Give us also confidence that Ephesians 3:20 But may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus,

When Satan is tempting you, stand in the promises of God and stand on the name of Jesus. AMEN.

We stand in awe of the faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, don't we? Their unwavering commitment to God in the face of adversity is a beacon of hope for us today. Like them, we too can choose to worship only the true God, even when the world pressures us to bow to its idols. Let's remember their example and strive to be like them, firm in our faith and obedient to God's commands.

As we face our own trials, let's trust that God is with us, just as He was with them in the fiery furnace. He promises in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." Let's claim this promise and trust in His protection and guidance.

Let's also remember that we are not alone in our struggles. We have each other, and we have Jesus. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus tells us, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." Let's encourage and strengthen each other in our faith, standing together against the wrong worship of this world.

So, let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Help us to have the same kind of faith and commitment to You. Help us to stand firm in our faith, even when the world pressures us to bow to its idols. Help us to trust in Your promises, and to claim them in our own lives. Help us to encourage and strengthen each other in our faith. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
