We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to remind you that God cares about your pain and wants to help you through this trial. First, we want to address the nature of your request. You've asked for Paul to return to you, but it's crucial to align our prayers with God's will and His principles as outlined in the Bible.
We must remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB
Also, we must be sure that our goals are honoring to Jesus.
In this situation, it's important to note that neither Paul nor Jen are behaving in a way that honors God and marriage. The Bible teaches us through 1 Thessalonians 4:3-10 WEB
"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God...For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification. Therefore he who rejects this doesn't reject man, but God, who has also given his Holy Spirit to you."
We cannot condone their behavior in leaving each other to pursue an unmarried courtship relationship. We also cannot ask God to take away Jen's free will choice to be with Paul if that is her desire, even though it is not pleasing to God. "Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error" Romans 1:27 WEB. It is for these reasons that we cannot pray asking for Gods blessing on this relationship until Godly change has taken place.
However, we can pray for you to find peace, healing, and guidance during this time. We can also pray for a Godly spouse for you. We can pray that Paul's eyes are opened to the error of his way of thinking and seeking satisfaction outside marriage. One way we must pray for Paul is as follows. "we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more and more" 1 Thessalonians 4:1-10 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister in Christ who is experiencing heartache and pain. We pray that You will comfort her and give her Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help her to trust in You and Your plan for her life, even in this difficult time.
Lord, we pray for Paul, that You will open his eyes to the truth and convict his heart. Make him see and make him desire to live in a way that honors You. Help him turn away from this sin, and seek Your forgiveness even if that means the end of his relationship. If it is true that Paul is saved then we know that he cannot continue in this sin indefinitely. We saw that Ananias and Sapphria and the believers that did not honor God with their body while participating in communion were kill because of their actions. Let this show Paul the importance of repentance from this sin and help him to act on this knowledge.
Father, we pray that our sistwr be godly in thought and actions. Help her that she long for a Godly marriage that is holy and pleasing to the Lord. Help her that see what is truly best for her, and not just what she desires in her heart. Give her supernatural discernment in her pursuit of this holy marriage. Allow her to see that God does not desire a relationship that is lead by lust and disrespect for her former relationship. The Lord God will leader her to the spouse that she needs. She should be completely open to what direction God leads her, regardless of her fleshly desires and feelings. Help A to set aside her deads and rely on you while she waits on Paul, she should be actively seeking a Godly spouse to love and to cherish.
Finally, Lord, we pray for the power of change and strength for these people so that they live a better life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
