Understanding your desire to marry a Christian man whom you believe God has sent, we stand with you in prayer. However, we must align our desires with God's will and His word. Let's pray and consider God's principles together.
Firstly, we commend you for seeking God's will in your relationship. Remember, God's plans for us are good (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). It's also important to honor your father, as the commandment teaches us (Exodus 20:12, WEB). Instead of seeing him as an obstacle, let's pray for his heart to change.
Let's pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister. We pray for the man she believes You've sent, asking for Your will to be done in their lives. We commit their relationship to You, Lord (Proverbs 16:3, WEB).
We also pray for her father. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see Your will. Help him to be open and supportive of Your plans for his daughter (Ezekiel 36:26, WEB). Instead of removing him, Lord, we pray for a change of heart and unity in their family.
Lord Jesus, we trust that You'll not take away the one who loves her, but we also trust that You'll guide them both according to Your perfect will. Help them to honor and glorify You in their relationship.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We also encourage you to trust in God's timing. Don't rush or force things to happen. God's delays are not denials (Psalm 37:7, WEB). Remember that God is sovereign over all, including international relationships. He can make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19, WEB).
Lastly, we urge you to ensure that Jesus Christ is the center of your relationship. It's only through Him that we can be saved and have access to God (Acts 4:12, WEB). Both of you should be growing in faith and love for Christ, helping each other in your walk with Him.
