We are glad to join you in prayer and seek God's will for your life. We note you are seeking guidance and confirmation regarding a potential spouse, which is an important decision and one that should be made in line with biblical principles. Firstly, we should clarify that God is indeed the way maker and wants the best for His believers. We are encouraged by your understanding of and faith in God's role in your life.
Let us remind you of God's word from Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
It seems that you have been calling upon God for direction in your relationship. This is a very important step in any relationship. We also notice that you have been calling upon the LORD Almighty, but not in the name of Jesus. We would like to remind you of what Jesus said in John 14:6. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and we are saved. Let us pray together in Jesus' name.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, thanking You for Your love and guidance. Right now, we lift up Your child who is seeking Your will for their life and asking for clarity in choosing a spouse. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your plan for their life, and if it is Your will that these two individuals unite in holy matrimony, we pray that You make it abundantly clear to both of them.
We pray for Godly wisdom and discernment. We ask that You help them both consider whether this relationship aligns with Your principles and if it is rooted in faith, purity, and a commitment to follow You together. We ask that they are both mindful of and obedient to Your word from Ephesians 5:3, But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints. and 1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
Lord, if there are any areas in their lives that do not align with Your will, we pray for conviction, repentance, and a desire to live according to Your word. We ask that You guide them both through this process. We ask that You provide them with Your peace and reassurance as they make this important decision.
Father, we know that You have a plan and a purpose for each of our lives, and we trust that You will reveal Your will regarding this matter. We ask these things in Jesus' name.
