We understand that you're seeking blessings for your time of rest and upcoming journey. Let's first acknowledge and discuss the need to ask for things in Jesus. First, it's wonderful that you're looking to the future with anticipation, but let's remember that we have access to God only through Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus and God's Grace that you will have a restful and enjoyable time. It is only through Jesus and God's will that it will not rain on your trip. It is only through Jesus and God's will that you will be able to go to the place you wanted. It is only through Jesus and God's will that you will return home safely. In Jesus' name and according to God's will we pray.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the provision of rest and opportunities to travel. We pray for true rest and peace that only You can provide, according to Matthew 11:28-30: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
We also lift up the upcoming trip, asking for safety, guidance, and favorable weather conditions. We pray that Your will be done in every aspect of this journey. We are reminded of James 4:13-15: "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow let's go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.' Yet you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.'"
Lord, we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, recognizing that it is only through Him that we have access to You. As it is written in John 14:6: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
We ask for salvation for anyone involved in this request if they have not already believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for them to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
In addition, we would like to encourage you to consider the following scripture as you prepare for your trip. Psalm 121:7-8: "Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."
