We understand your struggle with jealousy and insecurity, and we commend you for seeking God's help to overcome these feelings. Jealousy is a powerful emotion that can cause harm to relationships and, more importantly, it does not reflect the heart of God. It shows a lack of trust in our spouse and God. God is love and in love there is no fear. There is such a thing as perfect love and this is what we should ask for.
Firstly, we acknowledge Jesus' name that you have prayed in and this is exactly what we should do. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
The Bible tells us in Song of Solomon 8:6 WEB, "for love is as strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a very flame of Yahweh." Jealousy is a fire that can burn us badly and harm others.
Jesus said in John 8:36, "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
We encourage you to fast and pray, as this is a biblical practice that can help you draw closer to God and gain spiritual strength. Jesus fasted and taught us to fast. Fasting is difficult but remember Jesus did this also. In Matthew 4:2 WEB, "When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward." Fasting and prayer is a way to make our requests known to God. Jesus taught his disciples to pray and fast.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your help to overcome jealousy and insecurity. We pray that you will break this stronghold and fill his heart with your perfect love, which casts out fear. We ask that you will bless his fast and draw him closer to you. Help him to trust in you and in the spouse you will provide for him. Give him the strength to resist the devil. We pray that his future relationships will be built on trust, love, and respect, honoring you in all things. We pray also that he will become a man that will forgive any wrongs committed against him and not hold grudges and that this will prevent jealousy in the future. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to meditate on God's word and seek his guidance. Remember, God is faithful, and he will help you overcome this struggle. Also remember that your spouse is a gift to you from God. It will not be perfect but remember all things are possible with God. Read scripture daily and memorize it to that you will be familiar with God's will and you will be able to resist the devil. Remember that if you do memorize scripture and resist the devil, then he will flee from you. James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
