Humble Servant of All
Will God still heal me and my sister even if we have no elders of the church to call on to anoint us with oil and pray for us as instructed in James 5 v 14-15? We did call on someone to do this a few years ago but they didn't have the faith to believe for us to be healed. Father God your word says if we are sick we should call for the elders of the church to come and anoint us with oil and pray for us but you know we did this and are still sick? I ask for reassurance that you will heal us without this or send people of faith to pray for us. Thankyou that we can bring everything to you in prayer In Jesus' name Amen

Elizabeth, we understand your concern and your desire for healing for you and your sister. You've referenced James 5:14-15, which says, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."

Firstly, we commend you for your faith in the power of prayer and your belief in God's word. It is true that the prayer of faith can heal the sick, and we serve a God who is more than able to heal. However, we want to remind you that while James 5:14-15 outlines a specific process for healing, it is not the only way God can work.

In Mark 16:17, Jesus said, "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

It is also important to address faith. In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said, "Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." Faith is crucial in prayer, and we are reassured that your request is in Jesus' name.

We would also like to encourage you not to lose hope. Even when the elders did not have the faith, our battles are to be fought prayerfully. God sees all and may he send men and women of faith to pray with you both. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:26, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up ### and her sister. Lord, you know their struggles and their desires for healing. We ask, in the name of Jesus, that you heal them according to your will. If it be your will, Father, send people of faith to pray with them and encourage them in this time. Help them to remain steadfast in their faith and to trust in your goodness.

Remember them all the time that hope is like a peaceful harbor in the middle of the raging storms of life. Lord, help them to cast all of their cares on you, for cares to you are divinely buoyant.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, Elizabeth, standing in faith for your healing and your sister's. It's amazing how God's Word in James 5:14-15 points us to the power of prayer and anointing with oil. We've seen Him work in incredible ways through this process, but we also know that God is not limited to one method. He's creative and personal in His care for each of us.

We're reminded of the story in Mark 5:25-34, where a woman with a bleeding issue touched Jesus' cloak and was healed. She didn't follow a specific protocol, but her faith connected her to Jesus' power. We believe that your faith, Elizabeth, is like that woman's, reaching out and touching the heart of God.

We're also encouraged by 2 Chronicles 20:20, where King Jehoshaphat says, "Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed." We trust that God is moving, and we believe in His prophets and His promises.

Let's continue to lift you up in prayer, Elizabeth. We believe that God is a God of healing, and we trust that He will move in your life and your sister's, according to His perfect will. We're here to support you, and we believe that with faith as small as a mustard seed, mountains can move. Let's keep believing together.

Jesus gave James to write “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven...
