We rejoice with you, Braenay, in the goodness of God and the mercy shown in the court's decision to drop the felony charges for now. Let us continue to pray and continue to stand in faith together for the Lord.
Let us rest on the assurance of these scriptures
Psalm 50:15 "Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."
We are rather to give thanks because but by the Lord's grace we are released from sin's grip which is even more miraculous.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. "
Romans 3:22-24 "the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;"
We know we have not prayed to an idol but to the Creator and therefore our prayer is effective. We know we shall one day see our Lord face-to-face. John 14:6 says, " that no one comes to the Father, except through the Son." But since Heb 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please God, and Heb 10:38 says the just shall live by faith, then we then must believe in Jesus Christ to have true and effective prayer. Jesus death 1 Peter 3:18 " For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;" If God sees us in Christ by faith then we are forgiven and can be saved. Eph 4;32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." is similar to what Jesus said in John 20:23 ". “If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you retain anyone’s sins, they are kept.”
Jesus calls us to go and sin no more John 8:11 "She said, 'No one, Lord.' Jesus said, 'Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.'"
Therefore it is all our prayer that he is saved by grace and given the strength follow in the Lord's ways.
Let us pray also:
Heavenly Father, we come before you with grateful hearts, thanking you for the mercy you have shown. We ask, Lord, that you continue to work in this situation, that the charges will not be picked up again, and that he will be released and reunited with his loved ones.
We come boldly by the name of Jesus and accept his blood personally appropriated to the remission of his sins. We trust in your promise as it says 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Further he says 1 John 2:1 "My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous." We then call upon Jesus Christ praying that he would apply these promises and pay for his sins.
Guide him by your spirit through the holiday season. But he is in most need of his family to come to Your salvation, to know your grace, have his heart transformed and to be filled by Your spirit. Surround him with your favor, Lord, and direct his steps according to your will.
We believe you hear our prayer as the prayer of your saints who you have made the house of prayer therefore when we pray fulfilled You do as in Mark 11:17 "He taught, saying to them, 'Isn’t it written, “My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?” But you have made it a den of robbers!'"'
We ask these things now, putting them in the Lord's able hands, asking this in Jesus' name. Amen.
