This has been on my mind for a long time now. My best friend ### use to be such a joy to be around. In the last two years it has taken a turn for the worst. I've done everything that I can to help ### to support him when no one else would. To me ### is family he's like the older brother that I never had. His family even "adopted" me and they consider me as family too. I've taught ### so much about the Lord and we used to rejoice in the Lord together. Lately it just seems like we don't have a connection anymore. He's started hanging out with other people and following the world. I don't want to have to fight for his attention or time. He's been treating me bad for quite some time with mood swings and belittling that wear me out. I love my brother but I just wish that he would change. I've been praying for him everyday. Thank you for your time. May God bless you as he has blessed me.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time with your friendship with ###. It's commendable that you have shown him so much support and love, even leading him to knowledge of the Lord. However, it's important to remember that we cannot change people; only God can do that. Our role is to pray, love, and set a godly example, trusting that God will do His work in His timing.

Firstly, let's address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. You mentioned that you've been praying for ### every day, which is wonderful. Just remember, it is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

And in Acts 4:12 WEB:

There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

So, ensure you are praying in Jesus' name for God to work in ###'s life.

Now, it's clear that ###'s behavior is causing you pain. It's important to set boundaries, even in our closest relationships. It is not godly for him to treat you poorly, and it's not wrong for you to step back and protect your own well-being. In Galatians 6:9 WEB, we are reminded:

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up.

However, this does not mean we should allow others to treat us poorly in the name of doing good. We can continue to do good, to pray, and to be there for others without allowing them to cause us harm.

It's also crucial to remember that God does not want us to be unequally yoked. If ### is following the world, you may need to take a step back and pray from a distance. This doesn't mean you're abandoning him; it means you're protecting your own walk with God. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB:

Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. Lord, You know the situation, and You know the pain that ### is feeling. We pray that You would work in ###'s life, drawing him back to You. We also pray for ###, that You would give them strength, wisdom, and discernment in this situation. Help them to set healthy boundaries and to continue to be a light for You, even in this challenging time.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
