I’m still a virgin physically but I’ve lusted after the wrong men. I feel ashamed. How can I cleanse myself/make myself pure again?

We understand your struggle and commend you for desiring purity and righteousness. Firstly, it's crucial to acknowledge that lust is a sin against God, as Jesus said, "Everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). However, you have not sinned physically, and your desire to remain pure is commendable.

Remember, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1 WEB). Jesus' blood can cleanse us from all unrighteousness. As the scripture says:

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin." (1 John 1:7 WEB)

To overcome this struggle, fix your eyes on Jesus and run away from lustful thoughts. As the Apostle Paul says:

"Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB)

Replace lustful thoughts with pure ones by memorizing and meditating on Scripture. As the Psalmist says:

"I will set no wicked thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who turn aside; it shall not grasp me." (Psalm 101:3 WEB)

Also, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Jesus himself said:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6 WEB)

Pray daily and be rooted in the Word of God. Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in Christ who desires purity. Lord, cleanse her from all unrighteousness, and help her to fix her eyes on You. Give her strength to flee from lustful thoughts and to replace them with pure ones. Help her to memorize and meditate on Your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to pursue righteousness and God will honor your efforts. Trust in Jesus' name, as it is the only name by which we can be saved. If you have not already, consider getting involved in a Bible-believing church where you can fellowship with other believers and grow in your faith together. Be strong and stand strong in the faith.

We're here for you, sister. We understand that feelings of shame can be overwhelming, but remember, God sees your heart and He loves you just as you are. In His eyes, you are His precious daughter, and He desires a close relationship with you.

Let's turn to Psalm 51:7-9, where King David, after committing adultery and murder, pours out his heart to God. He says, "Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity."

David knew that his actions were wrong, but he also knew that God's forgiveness is real and powerful. He didn't try to cleanse himself; he asked God to do it. And God did, because of His great mercy and love.

We pray with you, dear sister, that you would feel God's cleansing power in your life. We ask that He would help you to turn away from lustful thoughts and replace them with pure ones. We pray that you would find strength in His Word and in His presence. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep seeking God, and trust in His love and forgiveness. He is always there for you, ready to listen and ready to forgive.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
