We understand your struggle, dear friend, and we want to assure you that you're not alone. Let's address this together in prayer and through God's Word.
Firstly, let's be clear that pornography and masturbation are indeed sins against our own bodies, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB): "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
It's important to note that salvation is not determined by our struggles with sin, but by our faith in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 (WEB) says, "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast." If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are saved. However, this doesn't mean we should continue in sin. Romans 6:1-2 (WEB) asks, "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be!"
Your desire to be free from this sin is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in you. Let's pray for deliverance together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, pleading for our brother's deliverance. He is struggling with the sin of pornography and masturbation, Lord, and he desires to be free. Father, we know that Your Word says, 'No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it' (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB). Please reveal the way of escape to our brother. Strengthen him in his inner being by Your Holy Spirit. Give him the power to flee from these temptations. He wants to live a life that pleases You, Father. Help him to fix his thoughts on You and to pursue righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to keep pursuing godliness, dear brother. Engage with God's Word daily, pray continually, and seek fellowship with other believers. If possible, find a trusted Christian brother to confide in and ask for their support and accountability. Remember, God is faithful, and He will help you overcome this sin. Keep fighting the good fight of faith.
