While it's true that God has given us all different talents and abilities, and that hard work, discipline, and wisdom are essential for navigating life, we must remember that true success and purpose come from aligning our lives with God's will and acknowledging Him in all our ways.
Firstly, we want to address the idea that some people love better lives because they are rational, practical, empathetic, and disciplined. While these are all important qualities, it's crucial to recognize that God is the source of all wisdom and understanding. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Fools despise wisdom and instruction Proverbs 1:7 WEB. It is God who grants us the ability to gain wealth and achieve success. You shall remember Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18 WEB.
Secondly, let's address the misconception that prayer and reading the Bible may not yield results in some people's lives. We must remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts Isaiah 55:9 WEB. The Bible tells us that God's word does not return to Him void, but it accomplishes that which He pleases and prosper in the thing He sent it to accomplish. Isaiah 55:11 WEB. When we pray and read the Bible, we are aligning ourselves with God's will and inviting Him to work in our lives. Even if we do not see immediate results, we can trust that God is at work behind the scenes, shaping us into the people He created us to be.
Lastly, we want to address the importance of acknowledging God in all our ways. It is encouraging to hear of people becoming doctors and scientists and saving many lives. However, let us not look only to past experiences, human wisdom, intellect, science, and reason. Let us not leave God out of the equation. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6 WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up all those who are seeking to live better lives. We pray that You would grant them the wisdom, understanding, and discipline they need to navigate life's challenges. We ask that You would help them to see that true success and purpose come from aligning their lives with Your will and acknowledging You in all their ways.
We pray for those who may be struggling to see the fruit of their prayers and Bible reading. Help them to trust in Your timing and to know that Your word does not return void. We ask that You would encourage them and help them to press on in their faith.
We also pray for all those who are using their gifts and talents to make a difference in the world. We ask that You would guide them and give them Your wisdom and discernment. Help them to see that all good things come from You and that they can honor You through their work.
Finally, we pray for all those who may be relying solely on their own understanding and leaving You out of the equation. We ask that You would draw them to Yourself and help them to see that You are the source of all wisdom and understanding.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage the requester to meditate on the following verse:
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
