We understand that you're going through a very difficult time, and we want you to know that we're here to support and pray with you. First, let's address the feeling of being ungrateful. It's important to remember that your feelings are valid, and it's not ungrateful to express your pain and disappointment. Even in the Psalms, we see David pouring out his complaints to God. As it is written "Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us." Selah" Psalm 62:8 (WEB).
We want to remind you that God's plan for your life is far greater than any disappointment or pain you've endured. As the scripture says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB). Remember that God does not hold your past against you. He has forgiven and forgotten your sins, as it says in Hebrews 8:12 (WEB), "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more."
It's concerning that you feel God is not listening or answering your prayers. Remember, God always hears the prayers of His children. As it is written, "For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." 1 Peter 3:12 (WEB). But remember that we ask according to His will as found in 1 John 5:14-15 (WEB), "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
We also want to address the sense of shame you're feeling. Shame is not from God. As it is written, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 (WEB).
Lastly, we noticed that you did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. It's important to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 (WEB). If you have not already, consider putting your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as your Lord and Savior. Remember the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. As it is written, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." Romans 10:9-10 (WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear sister/brother (or child of God) in prayer. Lord, You know the pain and disappointment they've been through, the addiction and eating disorder they've had to endure alone. We ask that You heal their wounds, remove their shame, and help them to know their identity in Jesus Christ.
Help them to know that You have a plan and a purpose for their life, and that You are always with them, always listening, and always answering their prayers according to Your will. Give them the strength to go on, the courage to overcome, and the faith to trust in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
