We understand your feelings of regret and your desire to go back and change the past. While it's not possible to go back in time, it's never too late to start making better choices and live in a way that honors God and your family. Remember, God is the God of new beginnings and second chances. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that the power to change comes through faith in Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved and redeemed (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life and committing to follow Him.
Regarding your past decisions, it's crucial to remember that everyone has made mistakes and has regrets. Instead of dwelling on the past, take responsibility for your actions, learn from them, and move forward. In Philippians 3:13-14 WEB, Paul says, "Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
To improve your social life and overcome addiction, surround yourself with Godly influences and supportive friends. Seek out Christian community and accountability. Proverbs 27:17 WEB says, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." Also, consider seeking professional help for your addiction and mental health struggles.
Concerning your relationship with your parents, it's never too late to open up and be honest with them. Apologize for past hurts and seek their forgiveness. The Bible tells us to honor our father and mother (Exodus 20:12 WEB), and by doing so, you can experience healing and restoration in your relationship with them.
About your education, while you can't change the past, you can make decisions today that will positively impact your future. Consider pursuing further education or learning new skills to improve your prospects.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this individual who longs for a better life and a fresh start. We ask for Your forgiveness, redemption, and guidance in their life. Help them to trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and give them the strength to make better choices that honor You and their family.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing from past mistakes, restored relationships, and the power to overcome addiction and mental health struggles. Guide them towards a supportive Christian community and provide them with the opportunities to improve their education and social life.
Grant them the courage to be open and honest with their parents, and help them to seek and grant forgiveness. Give them a renewed mind and a hopeful spirit as they press on towards the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
This we pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
