Dear beloved, we hear your cry for a boost in self-esteem and respect, and we stand with you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ. We understand the deep pain and hurt caused by the harsh words and manipulative actions of your parents, and we seek God's healing and restoration for you.
Firstly, let us remember what the Word of God says about your worth. In Psalm 139:13-14 (WEB), it is written, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." You are not worthless, but a precious child of God, intricately designed and deeply loved by Him.
We also need to address the issue of internalizing the criticism and abuse, which has led to further abuse from others. It is crucial to renew your mind with the truth of God's Word. Romans 12:2 (WEB) tells us, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." As you meditate on God's word, you will begin to see yourself as He sees you, and break free from the lies you have internalized.
Now, let us pray together.
"Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up our beloved sister/brother who is hurting and in need of Your healing touch. Lord, You know the pain they have endured at the hands of their parents, the manipulation, control, and harsh words that haveleft deep wounds. We ask that You would bind up their broken heart and heal their wounds, just as You promise in Psalm 147:3 (WEB), 'He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.'"
"Lord, we ask that You would help them to see themselves as You see them, to know their worth and value in Your eyes. Help them to overcome the negative words and experiences of the past, and to walk in the freedom and confidence that comes from knowing who they are in You. Give them the strength to forgive those who have hurt them, as You forgave us, and help them to break free from the cycle of abuse."
"We also pray for their physical healing, Lord. You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would touch their body and restore health and strength to them. We pray that they would be surrounded by supportive and loving people who will encourage and build them up, and help them to overcome the pain of their past."
"Lord, we thank You that You have not forgotten them, but that You love them deeply and have a wonderful plan and purpose for their life. Help them to draw closer to You, to trust in You, and to allow Your love to heal and transform them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Beloved, we encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God, and to trust in Him to bring healing and restoration to your life. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and it is in Him that we find our true worth and value. Lean on Him, and allow His love to fill you and bring you peace.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your local church or a trusted Christian counselor. They can provide you with practical steps and guidance as you journey towards healing and wholeness.
