Dear brothers and sisters in Christ
I need your prayers concerning a decision taken by the small court claims in Botswana on Monday concerning our case with VME a garage that fixes cars. Our car died in 2022 just before Easter. We took it to VME, which is a branch from South Africa.
They told us the engine for our car needed reconditioning and placed an order for parts in South Africa. Once VME had worked on our car we realised that the car was overheating and there was a leakage also. My husband went back to VME to query this latest development. The engineers told him in no uncertain terms that they had done their work.
Our usual mechanic William had moved from Gaborone so we called other mechanics who all maintained that no work had been done on the engine, but we thought they were just looking for a quick buck.
Luckily we managed to locate William and he took the car to the village where he lives and checked it.
He found that the engine hadn't been reconditioned and that in some cases the wrong parts were used.
After a discussion with my husband he took the car for reconditioning at a different place. The engineer noted all the things he had done. We paid both him and William
This year we lodged a case against VME at the small claims court.
The case was heard on Monday with someone who joined VME in Gaborone from South Africa as General Manager.He doesn't know what happened in 2022 and the papers he brought concerning warranty were dated 2024, which means the changes he introduced this year do not apply to our 2022 situation.
The court ended up saying that the case is technical and my husband should take it to the magistrate court.
We feel this is unfair as my husband produced all the evidence which pointed to the fact that VME robbed us of our money in 2022, otherwise there would have been no need to recondition the engine last year.
Besides we need the money from VME desperately and pray that VME should just reimburse us the money we spent last year and not have us go through the Magistrate's court, which is a long process and will need the services of a lawyer.
Still concerning the car one mechanic we engaged to fix our car stripped our car of the computer box and stole it together with some new stuff we had bought under the pretext that the computer box wasn't working.
We have taken the case up with our lawyer but the assessor lacks commitment to her work and between May and now has not done much. I need strong prayers so that God can touch the assessor's heart and make her realise how much we want to be compensated so that we can sell the car.
A friend of my husband's has promised to look for a similar computer box in Zimbabwe, his home country. From what he says there are lots of cars similar to ours there.Prayers would really be appreciated in this whole complex scenario regarding our car.It is certainly a spiritual matter and we would like to get rid of the car as soon as possible. Seeing it time and again makes us feel that there are dark forces that are out to make our life as miserable as possible.
We pray in the Mighty name of God that He may rescue us from the clutches of our enemies.May He solve all our problems and use us as a symbol of hope, restoration and that he uplifts the downtrodden.
