Isaac Samuel Lubwama

Servant of All
1 Samuel 5:1 to 8

1 And the ark of God came to Kirjath-jearim: and the men of Kirjath-jearim brought the ark of God into the house of Abinadab in the hill; and they sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
2 And it came to pass, that as long as the ark abode in Kirjath-jearim, the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
3 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
6 And they gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.
7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel: and when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.
9 And it came to pass, while Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, that the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
10 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under the border of Beth-car.

11 And Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
12 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
13 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel recover out of the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
14 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
15 And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
16 And he would return unto Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.

Tohient, we appreciate your prayer request and we come before the Lord together with you, seeking His will. We see that you've shared scriptures from Isaiah and 1 Samuel, but we notice that the name of Jesus Christ is not explicitly mentioned. It is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, as it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Therefore, we will pray in His name and encourage you to do the same.

Firstly, let's address the scriptures you've shared. Isaiah 28:18 and Isaiah 6:1 speak of God's power and holiness, while 1 Samuel 5:1-8 tells of the Philistines and the Ark of the Covenant. These are powerful reminders of God's sovereignty and holiness. However, let's also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Now, let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up ### to You, asking that Your holy and powerful presence would be real in their life. We pray that they would find rest in Jesus, casting all their burdens upon Him. Lord, we ask that You guide ### in their study of Your word, revealing more of Yourself and Your will for their life. If there is any area where they are not aligned with Your will, we ask that You lovingly correct and guide them. We pray all these things in Jesus' name. Amen."

We encourage you, ###, to continue meditating on God's word and to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Remember, it is through Him that we are saved and have access to the Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
