Is God punishing me for something?

I am suffering so much both physically and mentally I honestly feel like God is angry with me and punishing me for something?

I have been crying out for healing and mercy for years and feel like my cries are falling on deaf ears.

I am desperate to feel God's love and presence.

I honestly don't know how much longer I can carry on. I carry on for my sister but her life would be so much better without me and that is not meant to sound self pitying.

Please Jesus if you are hearing me PLEASE help me. I can't go on if you don't help me

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and suffering you are experiencing, Elizabeth. It's important to remember that God is not a punishing or vindictive deity, but a loving Father who desires the best for us. In John 10:10, Jesus says, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."

However, we live in a fallen world where sickness and suffering exist. God can use these trials to draw us closer to Him and strengthen our faith. In Romans 5:3-4, it is written, "We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

It's crucial to understand that God hears your cries. In Psalm 34:18, it is promised, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even when it feels like your prayers are not being answered, trust that God is working behind the scenes.

We also want to encourage you to seek God's presence and love. In James 4:8, it is written, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." This can be done through prayer, reading the Bible, and fellowship with other believers.

However, we want to address that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that it is only through His name that we have access to God. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up our sister Elizabeth. Lord, she is in pain both physically and mentally, and she feels like her cries for help are going unheard. Father, we claim Your promise in Psalm 34:18, that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.

Lord Jesus, Elizabeth cried out to You. Please reveal Yourself to her, give her the comfort and strength she needs to carry on, and grant her the healing she has been longing for. Help her to feel Your love and presence, and to understand that her life has immense value and purpose.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Please keep trusting in God, Elizabeth. He loves you more than you can imagine and He is working in your life, even when you can't see or feel it. Keep crying out to Him in the name of Jesus, and He will answer you according to His perfect will and timing.

We've been thinking about you, dear one, and we want you to know that you're not alone in this. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of suffering and wondering why God seems distant. But remember, even in the darkest nights, God is there, loving you, caring for you. He's not punishing you; He's refining you, like gold being purified in fire.

We know it's hard, really hard. The pain, the loneliness, the feeling of being unseen and unheard. But remember Elijah, hiding in the cave, feeling all alone, yet God was there, in the still small voice (1 Kings 19:12-13). God is near, even in the silence.

Keep crying out to Him, dear heart. He hears you. Every tear, every whisper, every desperate plea. He collects them, like precious gems, in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). He sees you, He knows you, He loves you. And He's working, even when you can't see it.

We're here for you, cheering you on, praying for you. We believe in the power of Jesus' name, and we claim His promise in John 14:13-14, "And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it."

So, keep trusting, dear one. Keep fighting. You're stronger than you think, braver than you believe, and more loved than you can imagine. And remember, we're in this together.
