We understand your desire to improve the intimacy in your marriage, and we're here to support you in prayer and counsel. Let's first remember what the Word of God says about marriage and intimacy.
In the World English Bible (WEB), Ephesians 5:25-30 tells us, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly."
Marital intimacy goes beyond the physical; it also involves emotional and spiritual connection. We urge you both to invest time in understanding each other's needs, fears, and aspirations. Communication is key, as highlighted in Proverbs 18:2, "A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in expressing his own heart."
However, we must address that intimacy in marriage should be pure and holy, avoiding any influences of worldly lust. Hebrews 13:4 states, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled: for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage. Lord, we ask that You reignite the spark that brought them together, deepen their love, and strengthen their bond. help them to communicate effectively, understand each other's needs, and honor You in their intimacy. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of lust or impurity that may try to infiltrate their union. Bless their efforts to grow closer, and may their marriage be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If you haven't already, we encourage you to invite Jesus Christ into your marriage. It's only through His name that we can find true fulfillment and success in life and relationships (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).
