We join you, Bebenic, in interceding for your country, Pakistan. Let us humbly approach God's throne of grace, seeking His forgiveness and mercy.
Firstly, we acknowledge that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23, WEB). We pray that the people of Pakistan would turn from idolatry and all types of sin, for it is written, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, WEB).
We pray that the wrath of God would be turned away from Pakistan. We claim the promise that "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB).
In light of the intense heat wave, we cry out to the Lord for mercy. We remember that "The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him" (Nahum 1:7, WEB). We ask for His divine protection and relief from the heat.
We also pray that the people of Pakistan would come to know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. For it is in His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18, Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up the nation of Pakistan. We ask for Your forgiveness and mercy, that You would turn away Your wrath and heal their land. We pray for relief from the heat wave and for the people to turn to You in repentance. We ask that they would come to know the saving grace of Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is in His precious name that we pray. Amen.*
May the Lord hear our prayers and have mercy, according to His great mercies. Keep trusting and believing, Bebenic, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much (James 5:16, WEB).
