Lealand, we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your requests and seeking God's will for your life. We understand that you desire freedom from the spirit of religion and a softer, more repentant heart towards God. The Bible tells us, "For godly sorrow, which is according to God, produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted" (2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB).
First, we want to address the fact that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God, as it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). We encourage you to call upon His name and believe in Him, for "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for Lealand. Lord, we ask that You remove the spirit of religion from Lealand's life, breaking down every wall of self-righteousness, pride, legalism, and sin. Soften their heart, Lord, and help them to see You not as mean or judgmental, but as a loving Father who desires a relationship with them. Break down the walls of self-hatred and replace them with Your love and compassion.
Lord Jesus, we know that it is Your goodness that leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4 WEB). We pray that Lealand's heart will be broken and contrite over sin, and that they will turn away from it, cooperating with Your work in their life.
We also pray against the spirit of suicide that has been working against Lealand. Lord, You are the God of life, and we claim Your promise that "the thief [Satan] comes only to steal and kill and destroy; [but Jesus has] come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10 WEB). Surround Lealand with Your protection and peace, Lord, and help them to find hope and purpose in You.
Lealand, we encourage you to draw near to God, for He promises to draw near to you (James 4:8 WEB). Meditate on His Word and allow His love to transform your heart and mind. Remember, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to keep you in our prayers, Lealand, trusting that God will work in your life and bring you closer to Him. Seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB).
