We are glad to join you in prayer for your daughter's career choices and upcoming interviews. It's wonderful that you have brought this need to the Lord Jesus, as He is the one who gives us access to the Father and it is only in His name we can pray and ask of God. Let us stand together in prayer and seek God's will for your daughter's life.
Firstly, let us remind ourselves of the promise given in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We should not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow has troubles of it's own. Instead, we should pray and commit our way to Jesus as instructed in Matthew 6:34. We should pray for God's will to be done and not our own.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the daughter of Anonymous. Lord, we ask that You guide her steps and give her wisdom as she begins her interviews. Help her to trust in You and not be anxious about the outcome. We pray and ask that your Holy Spirit will be mightily at work in her life. Help her to be confident in her nervousness, knowing that her confidence should be in Christ alone.
Lord, we ask that You open the right doors for her, according to Your will. Help her to find a job that not only meets her needs but also allows her to serve You and bring glory to Your name. We know that You have a plan and a purpose for her life, and we pray that she will be able to rest in that knowledge. We know that she is desperate to get a job, but we pray that she will be led by the Holy Spirit and not desperation.
We also pray that she will be a Daniel 1:8 woman among many. We pray that she will purpose in her heart that she will not defile herself with the portion of the king's meat, or with the wine which he drank. She will not consume the culture of the world but will instead be a light in the workplace. We pray that she will not be unequally yoked in any future marriage and will have favor and a good report with all who interview her.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you both to meditate on the following verses and to trust in the Lord with all your heart:
Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
Matthew 6:26,33 WEB: "See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
