We are truly sorry to hear about your daughter's injury, and we are here to pray and offer support during this time.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is always with us in times of need. As it says in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We can trust that God is close to your daughter right now, and He cares about her healing and recovery.
In this time we are careful to look at how we approach this painful time. We are called to endure hardship in 1 Corinthians 10:13 which says "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." While we see medical expemtion as OK to use, we are reminded that our strength comes from God alone. In light of this we must remember 2 Chronicles 16:12 which reminds us "In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet; his disease was exceedingly great, yet in his disease he did not seek Yahweh, but the physicians." We see a great example of how the Bible teaches this when it says "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." in James 5:14-16. Again we see our strength comes from God and the elders anointing with prayer and oil is purely symbolic, from scripture this should not be confused with extra-biblical teachings that speak of saints and saint performing miracles such as we see from the Catholic church.
It is important to note that there is no mention of Jesus in the request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved, it is only by his name that we can appraoch God. As it says in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, βI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Further the Bible tells us "in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him." in Ephesians 3:12.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your healing and comfort for Quortam's daughter. We pray that Your healing power would flow through her body, that the stitches would bring quick healing, prevent infection and relieve pain. We ask that You would give her rest sleep well and wake refreshed each day. We pray that You would give Quortam and his family strength, patience, trust and obedience in You, and wisdom in caring for their beloved child. We ask also that this can be a truning point for the family in faith in our Saviour. We pray that Your will be done in this situation, and that You would use it to draw their family closer to You we ask in the name of Jesus. In James 4:8 it is written "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." We ask this by the Jeus's wounds by which we are healed in the name of Jesus.
We encourage you, Quortam, to trust in God's plan and timing. Remember that He loves your daughter even more than you do, and He wants the best for her. Continue to pray and seek His face, and trust that He is working everything out for your daughter's good and His glory.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to use this time to share the gospel with your daughter and your family. As we are reminded "to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. " in 2 Corinthians 5:8. It is important for them to know that their names are written in the book of life and they are sealed with the precious Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption.
