Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance in these troubling times. Lord, we lift up Steven Bobb and his concerns about the moral decay we see in our society, particularly regarding the sanctity of life. Your Word tells us in Psalm 139:13-14, "For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." We know that every life is precious in Your sight, from conception to natural death.
Father, we are grieved by the way some politicians use the issue of abortion as a platform to gain votes. We ask for Your intervention in this matter. Turn the hearts of our leaders back to You, Lord. Give them the courage to stand for righteousness and to protect the most vulnerable among us. Proverbs 31:8-9 says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy." Help our leaders to heed this call and to value life as You do.
We pray for a revival of old values, values that honor You and uphold the sanctity of life. May our society return to a place where life is cherished and protected. We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have failed to stand up for what is right, and we seek Your strength to be bold in our convictions.
Lord, we also pray for those who have been affected by abortion, whether directly or indirectly. Bring healing and forgiveness to their hearts, and draw them closer to You. Help us as a community to offer support and love to those in need, showing them the grace and mercy that You have shown us.
In these challenging times, we look to You, our Rock and our Redeemer. Guide us with Your truth and help us to be lights in this dark world. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
