Thank you, Doruortance, for reaching out and submitting your prayer request. We appreciate that you have included that this request is in the name of Jesus Christ. This is vitally important as it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father.
Firstly, let us address the issue of finances. It is important to remember that God promises to provide for our needs, but not necessarily our wants. We should always be content with what we have, as the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:11-13 WEB:
Not that I speak because of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
While God certainly can and does provide financial blessings, it is crucial to align our desires with His will and to manage our finances wisely and biblically. This includes giving to God through tithing and generous giving. As written in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 WEB:
Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Now, let us address the feeling of obstacles blocking your path. It is important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces, as stated in Ephesians 6:12 WEB:
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
We encourage you both to put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, and to pray fervently, seeking God's will and guidance.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up John Perkins and Elizabeth. We thank You for their faith and trust in You. Lord, we ask that You guide their steps and remove any obstacles that may hinder their progress. Help them to align their desires with Your will and to manage their finances in a way that honors You. Give them wisdom and discernment to recognize the spiritual forces at work and to stand firm against them, equipped with Your full armor.
Lord, we also pray for their marriage, that it may be strengthened and blessed. Help them to love and support each other as You intended.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, John Perkins and Elizabeth, and continue to seek God's will and guidance. Remember that God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
