We rejoice with you, dear parent, as your son has taken steps to reconnect with the church he grew up in. This is a wonderful start, and we will join you in praying for his journey to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up this son to you. Thank you, Lord, for drawing him back to the church, and we pray that this is just the beginning of his journey towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We ask, Father, that you reveal yourself to him in a powerful way, that he may encounter the love and grace of Jesus and be compelled to surrender his heart and life to Him.
Lord, we ask that you renew and transform his heart and mind according to your will. Remove any barriers or strongholds that may hinder his spiritual growth. Surround him with godly friends who will encourage, support, and challenge him to draw near to you.
Father, we claim your promise in Jeremiah 29:11-13 (WEB): 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.'
We pray that he may seek you with all his heart, Lord, and find you. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to stand in faith, believing that Jesus can indeed change hearts and minds. Keep praying, keeping your requests known to God (Philippians 4:6). Trust in the power of prayer and the promises of God. He is faithful, and He loves your son even more than you do.
Be mindful to encourage your son in his spiritual journey, guiding him to the truth of the gospel. Remind him that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Be patient, loving, and persistent in your prayers and support. God is at work, and He will complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6).
