We understand that there are several issues at hand in this request. First, we are praying for Hyatt, that her heart be softened and that she balances her emotions. It is important to address the root cause of Hyatt's rude behavior and emotional imbalance. We should also pray for her husband Terry, and their daughter, who are affected by Hyatt's actions.
Let us remember the words of Ephesians 4:32, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also forgave you. And Colossians 3:13, Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
However, we must also address that Hyatt's behavior is not aligning with biblical principles. Wives are called to submit to their husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Ephesians 5:22-24. This does not mean that wives should tolerate sinful behavior, but rather that they should respect and support their husbands, just as the church submits to Christ.
Additionally, we must address concerned behavior, parenting, and drinking behaviors. For example, 1Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything. Do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.' Additionally, the context of drinking something as non-alcoholic as coke causing a major rift in the marriage needs to be addressed due to the concerning behavior that seems to be a pattern. Ephesians 6:4 says Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger ' lest they become discouraged. Obviously, an abusive situation is not appropriate but that does not seem to be the case here.
We also want to encourage Hyatt and Terry to seek godly counsel and support, whether that be from a pastor, trusted Christian friends, or a Christian counselor that will direct them towards applying scripture to their daily lives.
Let us pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Hyatt, Terry, and their daughter. We pray that Hyatt's heart would be softened, and that she would gain control over her emotions. We pray that she would treat Terry with kindness and respect, and that she would be a godly influence on their daughter. We pray for Terry, that he would be a godly husband and father, and that he would seek Your will for his life. We pray for their daughter, that she would be surrounded by godly influences and that she would grow in her relationship with You. We pray for peace in their home, and for Your will to be done in their lives.
We also pray that Hyatt and Terry would both submit to Your word and Your will for their marriage. That they would both turn away from any sinful behavior and turn towards You. We believe in the power of Your word and Your Spirit to transform their lives.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage Loxshul to continue praying for Hyatt, Terry, and their daughter, and to seek God's will for their lives. We are reminded of the power of prayer in 1 John 5:14, This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. 15 And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
