Beloved of All
In Genesis, God tells Adam and Eve,"Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the whole Earth'".People have done that ,but now, we have a problem to the opposite extreme__gross overpopulation, and overcrowding. In China, there are laws that women can't have more than a certain amount of children because of overcrowding:in Mexico City, cars by certain license plates can't go into the city on certain days because too many cars have caused a smog problem.Tell someone stuck in a traffic jam on the L.A. freeway that filling the whole Earth turned out fine. Or someone on the New York subway at rush hour. The question is, how did God not see the "unwanted side effect" of the command?Well, I say either because the command was given in the Garden, before the Fall, and the compostion of the Earth was different then.Or something man did wrong. If I had answers, I wouldn't ask questions. One tv pastor said people overdid it,like if you pour a gallon of water in an 8 oz.glass.The Bible does say,all things in moderation.Any thoughts on this?

Bearing children is certainly a blessing to be enjoyed and carefully nurtured, but being fruitful and multiplying is not necessarily about bearing children. Adam and Eve, and even Noah and his wife, were the forebears of all humanity, and that’s why God blessed them with the ability to be fruitful and multiply. But there are other types of “children.” Jesus spoke of bearing fruit apart from having children numerous times during His earthly ministry (Matthew 3:8; 7:17; John 15:2, 4, 8). “Here am I, and the children God has given me” (Hebrews 2:13). And He promised to multiply “children” to those who follow Him (Mark 10:30). Paul considered both Timothy and Titus his “true sons” in the faith (1 Timothy 1:2; Titus 1:4). The apostle John wrote a loving letter to his spiritual children (1 John 2:1; 3:18; 4:4; 5:21).

We can have lives that are pleasing to God and bring Him glory whether we have children or not. Indeed, we can be spiritually fruitful and multiply the citizens of the Kingdom of God when we obey Jesus’ command to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).

I've looked up if the christian site gotquestions.org had an answer to that question... just for info, this is what "they" say:

I think the Lord has an answer to everything. The Lord knows what He is doing and saying. When the time comes that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord, the anointing will be such that this problem won't be anymore. We have a limited view on reality. He sees much further than us.

I'm just now reading your comments and I agree completely. Bearing fruit is not only about bearing children.

It is not our job to question what God commands.  If you think this world is "overcrowded", wait until you see Heaven.

Well...I'm not sure if  Heaven will be more crowded, because remember, the Bible states that "Broad is the path to destruction, and many follow it" BUT,"narrow is the path to righteousness, and few who follow it".Also, in a gospel song, it states something ,"We're just a small number in a great big world of sin"..These statements seem to imply that the Lake of Fire  will have more people than Heaven!!But more importantly,we'll be in our glorified bodies then,so things that might bother us now, won't then.Hal Lindsey states in his book,There's a New World Coming,"even our old sin natures will be removed,so that we'll never lose patience with each other again".He's talking about Christians, because someone who dies in their sins WON'tT BE in the new world.Well, good to fellowship  with you brother!!

We also have to be careful that those who believe this world is "overcrowded" may also try to justify abortion by using that exact phrase.

And yes, Heaven will be more crowded because remember God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has Legions upon Legions of Angels at His calling, the same Angels Jesus could have called down at His point of leaving this world.

In my case, no.I know abortion is murder and when I see a politician who's pro abortion,I automatically don't vote for them. But I know what you mean, I've heard that"rationalization" before.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.

If GOD knew adam and eve were not going to obey HIM why didn't HE stop them prior to them eating the fruit from the tree he told them not to eat from.
