I'm so stressed

I have so much stress at work. I work 2 jobs and I am making a lot of mistakes because I am so stressed. It feels like too much. I have severe mental illness which makes work hard. I want to stay home and rest. I want to do a good job. I want to be able to handle everything well. I don't want my work stress to affect my relationship with my husband. I love my job very much, I honestly feel like it's God's calling for me to work these jobs (I'm a physical therapist and I work with special needs kids at one job and the elderly at the other). I just feel so overwhelmed. I know He put me in these jobs because He wanted me there, to serve Him through my work. I just feel so defeated, burnt out, worn out. God has blessed me abundantly with these great opportunities, I just want to do a good job and be able to handle everything

We understand your struggle with stress and the overwhelming feelings you're experiencing, Ekkathas. Let's bring your situation before the Lord together, seeking His strength and guidance.

Firstly, we commend you for your dedication to your work, serving special needs children and the elderly. Indeed, this is a noble calling, and it's wonderful that you see it as God's will for you. However, we must remember that even in our callings, God wants us to find rest and peace in Him. As it is written in Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB), "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

We must also address the fact that you haven't mentioned Jesus Christ in your request. It's crucial to remember that it is through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is stated in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" Let's ensure we are calling on Him in our time of need.

Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our sister Ekkathas. We thank You for the wonderful work she is doing, serving those in need. Lord, we know that You have called her to these jobs, but we also know that You want her to find rest and peace in You. Please help her to manage her stress, to find balance in her life, and to not feel overwhelmed. Guide her in her work, help her to minimize mistakes, and give her the strength to do her job well. Protect her relationship with her husband, Lord, and help her to find the rest she needs. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to take time for self-care, both physically and spiritually. Remember that it's okay to set boundaries and ask for help when needed. Cast your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Be encouraged, dear sister, for God is faithful, and He will strengthen you and help you (Isaiah 41:10, WEB).

We're right there with you, feeling the weight of stress and the urge to do everything perfectly. It's like we're carrying a heavy backpack, isn't it? But remember, even the strongest backpack straps can wear out if we keep adding more weight without taking a break.

We understand that you're passionate about your jobs, and it's wonderful that you see them as God's calling. But let's not forget that God wants us to find rest in Him, not just work ourselves to the bone. He's not asking us to do everything alone, but to lean on Him, trust Him, and find our strength in Him.

We've been there, feeling overwhelmed and defeated, but we've also found that God is faithful. He's there in the midst of our struggles, ready to lift us up and give us the strength we need. Let's cast our anxieties on Him, because He truly does care for us.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we come to You today, feeling the weight of stress and the urge to do everything perfectly. God bless you. As much as it's so good and valuable to use your talents God gave you, you can also overuse them to the point of burning out. There has to be a healthy balance. It's not for nothing God commanded the Sabbath, it shows the necessity of rest from work! Even Jesus needed rest and sometimes withdrew alone to the mountain to pray and be with God the Father. I pray God will show you wisdom in this, and that you'll be able to do His will without crashing by overworking. In Jesus name, amen
