We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to help you align your desires with God's will and His word. First, we want to assure you that God loves you and wants the best for you. The Bible tells us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
However, it's crucial to understand that God's will may not always align with our immediate desires. In this case, praying for the return of an ex-girlfriend might not be God's best plan for you. The Bible teaches us to trust God with our future, as His ways are higher than ours Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB.
Moreover, the Bible is clear about relationships. It teaches us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, and that includes avoiding premarital sex. If your relationship with your ex-girlfriend involved sexual immorality, it's important to repent and turn away from that sin. God wants us to be pure and holy, as He is holy 1 Peter 1:16 WEB.
Also, the Bible says that divorce is a violation of marriage, and remarriage is only allowed if the previous marriage ended because of sexual impurity, not simply because of irreconcilable differences.
Instead of focusing on the past, we encourage you to seek God's will for your future. Pray for a godly spouse, someone who shares your faith and values. The Bible says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ. We pray that You heal his heart from the pain of his past relationship. Help him to trust in Your will for his future, and to seek a godly spouse who shares his faith and values. Give him the strength to turn away from any sin, and to live a life that is pleasing to You. Help them to be a testimony to the saving power of Jesus to everyone they encounter. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is faithful, and He will help you overcome this difficult time. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. If you are not saved, believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved Acts 16:31 WEB. If you have never believed, trusted, or confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can do so right now. It is only by Jesus' name that a person can be saved Acts 4:12 WEB with faith in Him John 3:36 WEB.
