We understand that you, Christopher, are seeking to express your faith and your relationship with God. It's important to remember that our sins, while they are ultimately between us and God, do have earthly consequences and can affect our relationships with others. Confessing our sins to God is essential, as is seeking forgiveness from those we may have wronged.
Firstly, it's commendable that you confess with your lips. However, it's crucial to remember that faith is not just about what we say, but also about what we do.As it is written in James 2:17-18, "Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. Yes, a man will say, 'You have faith, and I have works.' Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith."
Secondly, it's important to address the fact that you did not mention Jesus. It's only through Jesus that we have access to God. Let us clarify that from a Biblical standpoint as shown in this verse: In John 14:6 WEB Jesus said, "“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Explicitly ending your prayers with "In Jesus' name" is also a beneficial practice. Because we are saved through Jesus.
We encourage you to continue seeking God's will and to strive for righteousness. Remember the words of Proverbs 28:13 WEB, "He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." Keep confessing.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you to lift up Christopher. We thank you for his faith and his willingness to confess his sins to you. We pray that you will continue to work in his life, molding him into the man you've called him to be. Help him to live according to your grace.
I pray that you will forgive and cleanse Christopher's sin through Jesus Christ. I pray you will prevent him and encourage him to apply Acts 3:19. We further pray in Jesus' name that he will move forward in a manner that would be pleasing to you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, Christopher, to continue in your faith, to seek God's will, and to live a life that honors Him.
