Justin, we understand your struggle with haunting memories and the fear of their influence on your family's spiritual environment. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name in addressing your request. That is the only name by which we have access to God.
Remember, the Bible tells us, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war as the flesh does. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 WEB.
God does not want us to live in fear or be haunted by our past. He says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.
To address your concern about past relationships, ensure that your actions toward others were just and that you have asked forgiveness for any wrongs you might have done. You should always forgive. Remember, But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings. Mark 11:26.
When you have haunting thoughts of them, take those thoughts captive. Remember in the Bible, if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14. Your prayer should be humble. Your bible should be open. Seek Him, and turn from your sin. Allowing these thoughts to haunt you and by living in fear is not honoring God or taking those thoughts captive. Pray that any bondage that might have resulted from them be broken. It is your righteousness that will allow you to see a spiritual environment free of their haunting effect.
When you turn to Him and pray, pray in confidence and prayer for others. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16.
We come before you, Heavenly Father, asking you to free Justin from the haunting memories of his past. You said all who call on your name you will do great things for. We take these promises for Justin. You said perfect love drives out fear. You said those who do right are as bold as lions. Cast out all fear. Make him bold for the gospel. Free him of any wicked ways. May he confess and you heal. In Jesus' name, break any bondage and remove all these from Justin's life and family, in the name of Jesus Christ. Remove the rememberances of them from his memory. Remember him no more of them and he remembers them no more. May any curses spoken against him return void to the one who spoke them. May those who lied and deceived about him to others reap what they sowed, in the name of Jesus Christ. Deliver them also from their evil ways so they stop practicing them. Turn their wicked ways towards your ways. Have mercy on them Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Deliver Justin and his family from evil, in the name of Jesus Christ. Bring him to repentance where he may need to repent and forgive. We join our faith with his and come against anything that may be affecting the spiritual environment of Justin and his family. If it be any of his wicked ways, convict him of those wicked ways, and if it is of others, protect him and his family. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
