Heavenly Father,
We lift up [Their Name] to You right now, knowing that You see the pain and discouragement weighing on their heart. Lord, Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18 that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We ask You to wrap Your loving arms around them in this moment, holding them gently and reminding them that You are near, even when life feels overwhelming.
Father, in this time of darkness, renew their hope. Remind them of the promise in Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Even when [Their Name] cannot see a way forward, help them trust that You are working behind the scenes for their good. Shine a light into their heart and remind them that they are not forgotten.
Lord, when they feel weak, be their strength. Isaiah 40:31 says that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, that they will soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not be faint. We ask You to give them that strength today—to take one step forward, to breathe one more breath, and to hold onto You even when hope feels distant.
We ask for peace that surpasses understanding to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Quiet the storm of negative thoughts, and replace them with Your truth—that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that they are loved beyond measure, and that their life has meaning and purpose.
Father, send people to surround [Their Name] with support, compassion, and encouragement. May they know that it is okay to ask for help, and may they be met with love, not judgment.
Most of all, Lord, remind them that You are a God who turns mourning into joy (Psalm 30:11) and brings life to the places that feel dead. Breathe new hope into their soul, and let this season of struggle become part of a greater testimony of healing, restoration, and renewal.
We thank You in advance for the work You will do, even when it’s not visible yet. Please, Lord, carry them through this storm and into a new season of peace.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
