Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister Gwilofay who is feeling depressed and in need of your joy. We thank you for the promise in your Word that you give "beauty for ashes" and "the oil of joy for mourning" . We know that you are the source of true joy and that you desire to fill our hearts with your joy.
Lord, we ask that you would pour out your joy upon Gwilofay's life. Lift the heaviness of depression and replace it with the joy that comes from knowing you. Your Word says in Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden..." We pray that Gwilofay would come to you, casting their burdens upon you, and finding rest and joy in your presence.
Help Gwilofay to open their heart to you, to pour out their troubles before you, knowing that you are a friend who understands their sorrows. You are the friend who can weep with the weepers, for you were a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. We pray that Gwilofay would experience your comfort and peace in the midst of their struggles.
Lord, we ask that you would grant Gwilofay contentment and joy, regardless of their outward circumstances. May they find peace of heart in the midst of any prison of depression, and may your joy sustain them in times of poverty, bereavement, and even on the brink of the grave.
We thank you, Lord, for the assurance that when we call upon you in the day of trouble, you will deliver us and we shall glorify you . We pray that you would sustain Gwilofay as they cast their burdens upon you, knowing that you will never allow the righteous to be moved .
In accordance with your Word, we lift up this prayer request to you, trusting that as Gwilofay brings their request before you in prayer, you will grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus .
We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus.
Amen.
