I’m a big failure. Will the Lord still forgive me?

I’ve been a very disobedient Christian. I have been hitting myself sometimes for being so stupid. How could I have done the things I have done since my baptism seven years ago? I was supposed to follow Jesus. Instead I’ve ended up having premarital sex multiple times since then and got drunk occasionally. It’s been a long while since I drank, but have had premarital sex recently. I hope I still have a chance at going to Heaven. I’m such a big failure, and according to one lady I talked to online for advice and prayer (though I’m not sure she prayed for me) I’m no better than an unbeliever. How can the Lord forgive me (if he still does). I don’t have peace. I am scared. I still have sexual desire. What can I do? Am I doomed since I knew better? Please pray the Lord will show me if I still have hope of Heaven and that I’ll hopefully be counted worthy to escape. Thank you for praying.

We are truly heartened that you have reached out with your struggles and concerns. First and foremost, we want to assure you that there is no sin too great for the forgiveness of God. The Bible tells us, For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:23-24 WEB). And If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).

However, it is crucial to address the sins you have mentioned. Fornication and drunkenness are indeed serious sins that God addresses clearly in His word. Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage yourselves. Live in harmony and peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. Abstain from every form of evil (2 Corinthians 13:11 WEB). Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21 WEB).

First let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before you with humble hearts,
Lifting up this dear soul who is burdened by sin and guilt.
Lord, they have confessed their sins to you,
And we ask that you will be faithful and just to forgive them,
Cleansing them from all unrighteousness.

Father, they are struggling with sin and feeling like a failure.
We ask that you will surround them with your love and peace,
Reminding them that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Help them to walk by your Spirit,
And to crucify the flesh with its passions and lusts.

We pray that you will give this dear one your victory, strength and faith in Jesus.

Lord protect them from giving up, going back and from the precarious world which only brings despair, isolation, darkness and pain.

Lord fill their spirit with your Holy Spirit and the hope of Heaven to be with You.

Give them the desire to be with You in peace and victory and a blessed home.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we ask your grace and love.

We also want to encourage you to take practical steps to turn away from these sins. We urge you to separate yourselves from anything sexually immoral (2 Corintians 12:21 WEB). It is important to flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man can do is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. - Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods. - (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB).

Next, do not track back like Lot's wife.

Remember Lots wife. - (Luke 17:32 WEB). She was turned to a pillar of salt.

And To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write: The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things: - I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first. - But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. - I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. - Behold, I will throw her into a bed, and those who commit adultery with her into great oppression, unless they repent of her works. - I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you what your works deserve. - (Revelation 2:18-24 WEB)

Jesus Christ said, but he who remains steadfast to the end will be saved - (Mattiew 10:22 WEB).

We must address this as well it does not mention Jesus Christ as savior.

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me - (John 14:6 WEB).

Jesus Christ said, For whoever will save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake will save it - (Luke 9:24 WEB).

Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:5 WEB)

1 God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds. 3 His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have. 5 For to which of the angels did he say at any time, You are my Son.Today have I become your father? and again, I will be to him a Father,and he will be to me a Son? (Hebrews 1:1-5 WEB).

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world, should be saved through him.(John 3:16-17 WEB).

14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:14-15 WEB).

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 WEB).

We pray that you will be strengthened to turn from these things and live in holiness in Jesus name.

We exhort you to call out to God in the name of Jesus Christ, confess your sins to Him, and turn away from them. Trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for your salvation, and commit to living in obedience to His word. Do not be scared or feel doomed, for God's forgiveness is freely offered to all who would call upon Him. You are not an unbeliever but a believer struggling with sin. Be encouraged.

I'm here for you, friend. We all stumble and fall, but it's how we get back up that truly matters. Remember, even the greatest saints in the Bible made mistakes, yet they were still used mightily by God. Take heart, there's always hope in Jesus.

First, let's acknowledge the pain you're feeling. It's okay to hurt, to feel overwhelmed, and to question. God is big enough to handle all of that. He's not surprised by your struggles, and He's not pushing you away. In fact, He's drawing near to you in your pain.

We need to address the elephant in the room, though. The sins you've mentioned are serious, and they're hurting you and others. But here's the thing: they're not beyond God's forgiveness. Not even close. He's waiting with open arms, ready to welcome you back, to cleanse you, and to set you on the right path again.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, they're hurting, they're confused, and they're scared. But we know that You're bigger than all of that. You've promised in Your Word that if we confess our sins, You're faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. So, we ask that You would do that right now. Forgive them, Lord. Cleanse them. Help them to feel the weight of their sin lift off their shoulders.

Lord, help them to understand that they're not doomed. They're not an unbeliever, but a believer struggling with sin. Help them to see that You're not finished with them yet. Give them the strength to turn away from these sins, to flee from sexual immorality, and to live in holiness. Help them to trust in the finished work of Jesus on the cross for their salvation.

Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with hope, and with the desire to be with You in peace and victory. Help them to find their way back to You, to walk in Your light, and to experience the joy of Your salvation.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, and we are humbled that you have given us the privilege to intercede on your behalf. It is our heart's desire to stand in agreement with you in prayer, believing that our Lord is faithful to forgive and restore.

If you have experienced the assurance of forgiveness and peace, we would be encouraged to hear a praise report from you, glorifying God for His goodness. If you are still feeling burdened and have not yet experienced the relief of God's forgiveness, we urge you to post your request again, allowing us to persist in prayer with you.

We want to remind you that no sin is too great for God's forgiveness. The Lord assured us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." In addition, as Jesus helped the disciples understand that even repentant modern day prodigals can be saved. It is worth reminding yourself of this passage from the gospel. Jesus continued, "Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:7. So you are very clearly not doomed. Your heart felt prayers have been heard. Do not forget that even saints throughout history have called out to God due to past behavior. The words of Psalm 130 can be yours: "Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord! O Lord, hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy!" Regardless of the specifics of your situation, there is hope.How can you be saved? As you have outlined in your prayer it is though Jesus who was raised from the dead. You will be make alive in Christ. Just as God raised Jesus from the dead.
