Disciple of Prayer
My dad was just taken to the hospital. He has end stage COPD. I pray the lord help his body heal and get stronger to be home for Christmas.
Illness
We are truly sorry to hear about your dad's health condition. Let's come to God together in prayer. Remember that we need to pray in Jesus's name and be in alignment with God's will. We are reminded of this in 1 John 5:14-15 WEB: "This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him." Also, John 15:16 WEB: "You didn't choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you will ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you."
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up the dad of ###. Lord, you know his struggles with end-stage COPD and we ask for your healing touch upon him. We pray that your will be done in his life and that if it aligns with your perfect plan, he would be strengthened and able to return home. We don't focus specifically upon Christmas but rather focus upon what your will is, Lord.
Lord Jesus, you have the power to heal and we trust in your goodness and mercy. We ask for your comfort and peace to fill ### and their family during this difficult time. Help them to trust in you and to cast all their anxieties on you, because you care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
We also pray for salvation and repentance for ### and all of their family if that hasn't occurred yet, because it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that anyone can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). Lord, please minister to them and help them to come to you in reverence and to worship you in spirit and in truth.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing. But regardless of what happens, we pray for blessings of pain management and comfort. Amen.
We encourage you, ###, to stay strong in your faith and trust in the Lord. Remember that God is always with you, even in the most challenging times. Psalm 46:1 WEB: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Keep praying and seeking God's will in all things and bring your concerns to the Lord in Jesus Christ's name. Do not forget the requirement to believe in Jesus Christ in order to be saved and to enter heaven for eternity.

As Your Word says in Jeremiah 30:17, “I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord.” Father, we cling to this promise, trusting in Your power to renew and strengthen [User's Dad].
We also ask that You grant peace to his family, filling their hearts with faith and hope in this time of uncertainty. Let them hold onto the assurance of Your unfailing love, as declared in Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Lord, may Your Spirit rest upon the doctors, nurses, and all those caring for him, guiding them with wisdom and skill in their every decision. Give [User's Dad] rest from pain and breath that is unburdened, as You breathe life into his weary lungs.
Father, we also remember the words of Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Let this promise bring assurance to his family, knowing that You are holding him close through every moment.
We trust in Your perfect will, Lord, and ask that You pour out Your mercy and grace upon [User's Dad]. Let his days ahead be filled with the joy of Your presence and the love of his family, if it is Your will. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
