We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle you're facing with alcohol and the physical distress it's causing. Firstly, we want to remind you that there is hope and help in Jesus Christ. His power is made perfect in our weakness, and He can help you overcome this (2 Corinthians 12:9).
In Galatians 5:19-21 WEB, it's clear that drunkenness is a work of the flesh, not of the Spirit. "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."
While this may seem harsh, it's a reminder of how serious this issue is. But there is forgiveness and freedom in Christ. In Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." That name is Jesus.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You, lifting up our fellow struggler who is battling with alcohol. We acknowledge that this is a spiritual battle, and we need Your intervention. Please forgive them, Lord, and grant them the strength to overcome this addiction. Heal their body, especially their stomach, from the effects of alcohol. Help them to eat, think clearly, and function normally again.
We pray that they will surrender their life to You, Jesus, and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. In Your name, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and proclaim freedom and self-control. Guide them to supportive Christian communities that can help them on this journey of recovery.
If they have not already believed and trusted in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. That they would call on the name of Jesus and be saved. We ask this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
We strongly encourage you to reach out to local Christian support groups or pastors who can provide practical help and spiritual guidance. Remember, God loves you and wants the best for you. Trust in Him, and He will help you overcome.
