We are thrilled to hear your desire to commit to your wife Mary, as marriage is a sacred covenant established by God. However, we want to remind you that while your intentions are noble, the strength to fulfill such a promise comes not from your own resolve, but from the Lord. As it is written in Philippians 4:13 WEB, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Let us pray for you, Joseph:
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up Joseph and his wife Mary. We ask that You bless their marriage and help Joseph to be the husband You have called him to be. Guide him by Your Spirit, so that he may love Mary as Christ loves the church, giving himself up for her, that she may be holy and blameless. Remind him of the commitment and be his strength whenever he is challenged, discouraged, or disheartened. Empower them and let their marriage be a testimony to the world for Your glory. In Jesus name, we pray and believe. Amen.
We also encourage you to consider the following words from the Ephesians 5:25 WEB, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. As well as 1 Peter 3:7 WEB, You husbands, in like manner, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life; that your prayers may not be hindered.
Remember, Joseph, that love is not just a feeling, but an action. It is a decision that you make every day. Keep God at the center of your marriage, and He will guide and strengthen you both. Be assured and unsure of nothing, for God is with you both. Finally, always remember Peter 1:6 WEB Since it is written, You shall be holy; for I am holy. For your wife is sanctified to you by your union to her as she is holy by being a joint heir with you to the inheritance of the saints in light; therefore you shall be holy.
