We are truly saddened to hear about your friend's situation and your concern for him is commendable. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is a refuge for us and He cares about our struggles. As it says in Psalm 9:9 WEB, The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. It is only by the name of Jesus we can approach God and find help for our struggles.
In situations like this, it's important to remember that our help comes from God. Psalm 121:1-2 WEB, I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
While it's noble to want to help your friend, ensure that your help does not enable any sinful behaviors. If your friend is in a toxic situation that involves sin such as cohabitation outside marriage or a same sex relationship, we should encourage him to repent and turn away from this so that he may be in a healthy relationship with God. Remember, God blesses those who follow His commandments. Psalm 1:1-2 WEB, Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the Lord's law. On his law he meditates day and night.
Let's pray for your friend, that God will provide a way out of his toxic situation and into a place of blessings.
Dear Lord, we lift up our friend's friend to You, asking that You guide him out of his toxic situation. Provide him with the resources and a safe place to live, and most importantly, draw him closer to You. Help him to seek You first and Your righteousness, and may all other things be added to him. Give our friend wisdom on how to best support and encourage during this time. May he always point his friend to You.
We encourage you to continue praying for your friend and sharing God's word with him. If they are not a believer, remind him that God loves them and has a plan and purpose for their lives. 1 John 5:11-12, And the testimony is this, that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn't have God's Son doesn't have the life.
