I WILL TAKE HOLD
OF YOUR HAND!
"I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness." Isaiah 42:6-7
What are you facing today? What are you fearful about right now? May I suggest you reach out your hand to your Lord Jesus Christ. Hold on to your Lord's righteous right hand and let Him lead you through all your fiery trials. Do you know the mighty power that is in His righteous right hand? Will you please reread the first scripture that I shared at the top of my devotional today? What a promise for you.
Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The LORD has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. Psalm 98:1-2
May you always know in your heart that God sent His only Son to earth to be a light for His children who were walking in darkness. Jesus Christ paid the price at Calvary. Your Lord wants to go to your spouse, opening their blinded eyes to see Jesus Christ as the Light. Pray that your Lord will go and touch your husband or wife who has been wounded because of all your marriage problems. Will your husband or wife not forgive or trust you because of what happened in your marriage? Believe that the Lord can touch their bleeding wounded heart and change their mind. Your Lord can touch your husband or wife and take their heart of stone and turn their unforgiveness to a heart of love and forgiveness. Is anything too hard for the Lord?
The marriages that bother me the most are when I hear of two people who are both Christians and one of them will not forgive their spouse for all their failures, their lack of communication, their selfishness in their marriage or their mistakes that they made as a husband or wife by not giving their spouse another chance and choosing to love them unconditionally. Instead, there is a pending divorce between two people who have left Jesus outside their marriage instead of asking Him to fix their marriage problems. Many Christian wives have given up on praying or fighting for their marriage because their husbands were Sunday Christians and never showed them love or were actively involved in all their family responsibilities.
These divorces should never happen! God can rekindle and reignite their love to be more on fire than on their wedding day. We just need two open hearts that will get on their knees and pray each day for the Lord to resurrect their hurting and dead marriage. Know for certain that God will do it, as He created the institution of marriage. This couple needs to open up their Bible and see that neither one should apply for a divorce as that is what the Bible teaches us.
To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. 1 Corinthians 7:10-11
Your Lord can also go and set your spouse free who is a prisoner in bondage to sexual immorality, alcohol or drug addictions, gambling, pride or selfishness. Your Lord Jesus Christ has paid the price to rescue you, your spouse and loved ones from the darkness and trap of their sins. Your Lord will reveal to your spouse God's amazing truths to teach them how to walk into His great freedom. The Lord is calling them each day, holding out His righteous right hand to pull them out of their dark prison of deceptions and lies as He touches their heart, turning them to God and back home to their waiting, beloved spouse and family.
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
Close your eyes. Can you imagine your Lord leaving the ninety- nine sheep going after your lost spouse who is so deceived, blinded and tangled into the sins of the world thinking divorce is the only answer? Only Your Lord Jesus Christ can rescue them. He can take His righteous right hand and set them free by His mighty power.
We had a very large picture, which was almost five to six feet tall, of our Lord Jesus holding a wounded sheep in His mighty arms in our Bible study room where we used to meet. Everyone commented about the picture. You need to get a visual picture of your Lord loving you and your spouse so much that He will leave all the healthy sheep and go after your lost spouse, setting them free by His righteous hands.
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The LORD's right hand has done mighty things! The LORD's right hand is lifted high; the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!†I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done. Psalm 118:13-17
What an awesome scripture for us to claim right now! Reach out your hand to hold onto the Lord's righteous right hand when you are going through your own deep waters or when you are fearful of all your circumstances. He is right there with you. Let me share one of my favorite scriptures:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand...For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:10,13
Yes, allow the Lord to hold your hand. Let your Lord God help you and strengthen you when you are so weak, tired and weary that you do not think you can keep on doing all that you must do. Remember, the enemy is telling you that you are too weak and tired, that it has taken too long, and you need someone else to remove your loneliness and help you financially. The enemy is speaking lies to you like he did to Eve in Genesis.
Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." Isaiah 35:3-4
I would like you to visualize that Your Heavenly Father is right there beside you when you are going through difficult times, all you have to do is reach out your hand. I am, will you? He will hold onto you with His righteous right hand and you will not fall or be alone! You may have many battles ahead of you, but allow your Lord's righteous right hand to defeat the enemy and restore your marriage!
"Your right hand, O LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, O LORD, shattered the enemy." Exodus 15:6
