35M. I have been celibate for 6 years after realizing sex before marriage was something that was destroying my soul. However I replaced that with pornography for a very long time. As you know, the more you sin, the easier it becomes and the more dark it goes. I was lying to myself, always believing I could quit but I’d always rebound and go back fully into it. Mostly it was out of loneliness, temptation and my insecurity in committing to a relationship. I would also go on dating apps with the intent of dating someone but it would usually end with me sexting someone and never dating because again…that was just the easiest way to take care of my needs. I lied to myself that I was helping them and they were helping me but over time I realized I was manipulating women and being a massive detriment to their lives. Basically I’ve been a major disaster. Recently, over the last few years I’ve been growing with my faith, returning to church and reading my Bible..studying again but I still struggled with porn off and on. This was a series of guilt with asking for forgiveness but then finding myself in the same cycle weeks later. It was very soul draining to come closer to God but then fall back into sin on repeat. Long story short, recently I found spots around my groin that looked a lot like faint birth marks, I went to the doctor when I realized they weren’t going away. He laughed at the idea of it being warts or cancer when I asked and thought it was from me shaving. He asked if I wanted a biopsy done to put my mind at ease as he kept asking me why I was so stressed (I’m a worrier, please pray for that in my life). I agreed to it, I asked his assistant during the biopsy again if this looked like cancer or warts and once again he said no no no they don’t look like that (this really put my mind at ease). He said I’d get the results back within a week. Weeks past and I didn’t hear anything. I was happy after not hearing anything to believe it was just a reaction to something because I didn’t get any calls but a month and a half later the doctors office called me to come in. I came in and at first he asked me why I was there?? I said I was called in. He kept looking over the results and after awhile he told me the results came back as “compatible” with HPV. The absolute shock I was in after feeling so much relief. Hearing that absolutely destroyed me. First, knowing that you should get this after 3-6 months of intercourse with someone but I had been celibate for so long…I could not believe it. I guess a small fraction of people can get it and it lie dormant for years or decades only to come up later in life. I guess this was me. I still remember the shock, I drove home and cried, I yelled,”why me God…why me” after being celibate for so long even when I had so many opportunities not to be. Ironically 2 months later after finding this out and after a lot of distress/despair, the whole thing has brought me closer to Jesus. I can only explain it as it caused me to look closely at my life and see how I need to rely and become closer with him and end this addiction once and for all. No more excuses. I can’t explain how I got HPV or how I’m one of the few people who actually got GW from it but I know this moment in my life caused me to stop and reflect on my entire life, all my mistakes, all my fears, everything. It’s been 4 months since first saw them and I’ve mostly cleared them all but your prayers would be welcomed and appreciated. Both for my condition, my mental health and my addiction. I don’t believe I’ll ever go back to porn and I know I’ll get over this hurdle in my life. I want to have a family and children one day. I want to be the man God wants me to be! That’s all I desire now. I know this is a lot to read. It was hard for me to type out and be vulnerable as I’m very private and introverted but thank you to those who will pray for me and my struggles. Maybe this will help someone else in the future. In your journey, you've struggled with pornography and sexual sin. These are indeed serious issues that God wants to help you overcome. The Bible tells us to "flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" We need to make sure that is clear that sexual immorality is both the things already mentioned and also homosexuality. We should pray that this is never an issue..1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB. It's crucial to remember that God's will is for us to be holy and that involves our physical bodies and also the battles of our minds, so take heart and use the Word of God to stand against the temptations of sexual sins. It appears that by the grace of God, you are working to find victory over these areas of sin. .For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.Romans 6:5-7 WEB.

Your diagnosis has been a wake-up call and has drawn you closer to Jesus. This is a beautiful example of how God can use even the most difficult circumstances for our good and His glory.the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:7 WEB.

You mentioned that you want to have a family and children one day. Since "marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge."Hebrews 13:4 WEB, we encourage you to pursue a godly marriage with a Christian woman and pray as well believing that the Lord can heal you. We pray for complete deliverance from his addiction to pornography. Strengthen him in his inner being that he may overcome all temptations through the power of the Holy Spirit.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.Ephesians 6:11-12 WEB.
