I was cheated on

I’m ### with a ### year old and found out a couple months ago my boyfriend of almost ### years cheated on me while gone for the military at ###, I took him back but still unsure if I can trust him again. I don’t know for sure if he went “all the way” with those girls but I do know for sure he was talking to multiple other women. Any advice or prayers will help.

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and betrayal you are experiencing. It's important to remember that God's will is for us to have faithful and loving relationships. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Firstly, we want to address that the relationship is not a marriage. In the Bible, we see that God intends for a man and a woman to be committed to each other in marriage, not simply in a long-term relationship. We encourage you to consider the sanctity of marriage and what that means for your future.

Regarding the infidelity, the Bible is clear that sexual immorality, including adultery and fornication, is a sin. Even if there was no physical intimacy, the emotional affair and conversations with other women are still a form of betrayal. In Matthew 5:28 WEB, But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. It's crucial to address this sin and seek repentance.

We advise you to take time to seek God's will for your life. It's important not to rush into any decisions but to pray and seek His guidance. Colossians 3:13 WEB says, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Here is our heartfelt prayer for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this dear sister in Christ. Lord, she is hurting and feeling betrayed. We know the relationship is not a marriage. If it is your will, we pray for a godly husband for her. Please help her with any unforgiveness. We ask that You guide her steps and show her the path You have for her. We pray that if this relationship is not Your will, that You will give her the strength to walk away and trust in Your plan for her life. Guide her to the path of a Godly marriage. If they are to stay together, help them to rebuild trust and seek purity and faithfulness. Give her assurance, guidance and discernment. If you do stay together, a godly marriage should be the goal.

We also pray for her boyfriend, that he would truly repent of his sins and seek Your forgiveness. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He will help you through this. Stay strong in your faith and trust in Him.

We're really sorry to hear about the pain you're going through. It's tough when trust is broken, especially in a relationship that's supposed to be built on love and commitment. We want you to know that we're here for you, praying with you and for you.

First off, it's important to remember that God sees you, He knows your heart, and He's walking with you through this. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that God is in the business of healing and restoration.

We understand that you're struggling with whether you can trust your boyfriend again. It's okay to feel this way, and it's okay to take things slow. In Matthew 7:6, Jesus says, "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." This doesn't mean you should write him off, but it's a reminder to be wise and protect your heart.

We encourage you to keep communicating openly with him about how you feel. It's important for him to understand the gravity of his actions and the impact they've had on you. But also, be open to hearing his side and his commitment to change, if that's what he's truly seeking.

Remember, God's love for you is unchanging. He's got a plan for your life, and it's a good one (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust that He's working things out for your good, even in this difficult situation.

We're praying for you, that God would give you wisdom, peace, and clarity. We're also praying for your boyfriend, that he would truly repent and seek God's forgiveness. We're here for you, and we believe that together, we can trust God to work this out in His perfect timing.
