I want to turn to a life of god but dont know how

I have sinned many times but i want to change and i need a sign from god im going down a bad path and dont know how to turn back i need help and i beg for gods forgiveness i dont know if i can come back i have done many bad things.

First, let's address your desire for a sign from God. In Matthew 12:39 WEB, Jesus said, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet." Rather than seeking a sign, focus on the truth of the Gospel and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

It's crucial to understand that everyone has sinned and falls short of the glory of God. This is acknowledged in Romans 3:23 WEB. “All are not worthy of the glory of God.” The good news, Found in Ephesians 12 WEB is: “As for us, we all became children of God by faith and though this faith —because just as it happened then that justification for life has come to all mankind though just one righteous act, so also through the faithful exercise of just one man righteousness for all mankind has resulted in justification which produces life.”

Turning to God involves repentance—a sincere desire to turn away from sin—and faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:6 WEB, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." 1 Tim 2:5 WEB reasserts this by saying: “The man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all mankind —” It is only through Jesus that salvation is possible. And in Acts 4:12 WEB it is written: “Neither is there salvation in any other.”

Let's pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with Chaironos, who desires to turn to a life devoted to You. We thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy. Chaironos acknowledges their sins and seeks Your forgiveness. We pray that You grant them the gift of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Help them to turn away from their past and walk in the newness of life that Jesus offers.

It's not about what you have done, but it's about what Christ has done for you, and actually what you lacked was wisdom. The desire to change is the Spirit of God in you. You've been given a new heart, so repenting is changing the mind. What is so wonderful we are told that we now have the mind of Christ, and can know the thoughts of God. Did you know after Adam and Eve "fell" they still communed with God. There was no separation. He still talked with them and they with Him.
Christ has redeemed us, he reconciled us to God.
Instead of saying, I have done many bad things, start acknowledging every good thing in you in Christ. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I have been redeemed and reconciled to God through Christ. I Have the Spirit of God, I have been made one with Him.
God's love never falters or fades, it is constant and pure.
Father thank you, in Jesus name for speaking to this person's heart to want to change. Thank you for giving them a new heart an establishing them in righteousness. Thank you that it is faith in Christ in them that pleases you.
