We understand your concern, Haftgal, and we're here to help you discern your motives and pray with you. It's important to remember that God knows our hearts and understands our intentions better than we do ourselves. As the Bible tells us in 1 Chronicles 28:9 (WEB), "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts."
It's not wrong to seek healing when asking for help to forgive others. In fact, they often go hand in hand. When we forgive, we let go of bitterness and resentment, which can bring emotional and even physical healing. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12 WEB).
However, it's crucial to ensure that our desire for healing doesn't overshadow our genuine desire to forgive. The act of forgiveness should be sincere and not just a means to an end. Remember, Jesus said, "But if you don't forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your failings" (Mark 11:26 WEB).
Let's pray together:
"Dear Jesus, we come before you with Haftgal, seeking your guidance and wisdom. Search their heart, Lord, and reveal any hidden motives. Help them to forgive sincerely, not just for the sake of healing, but out of genuine love and obedience to your teachings. If there's any bitterness or unforgiveness hidden in their heart, expose it and help them to let it go. We ask this in your precious name, Jesus. Amen."
We also encourage you, Haftgal, to reflect on Jesus' teachings and ensure that your desire to forgive is genuine and not just a means to receive healing. Remember, it's only through Jesus that we can find true healing and forgiveness. As Peter said in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
