We understand that you're going through a difficult time, Mengan, and we want to help you find healing and peace in Christ. The pain of a past relationship can linger, but we want to remind you that God desires to bring you comfort and restoration.
Firstly, we want to remind you that it is important to pray in Jesus' name. For God does not hear sinners, God only hears prayers in Jesus name. If you are not sure then contemplate whether you want to make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us the Gospel that Jesus Christ died in our place, paying the penalty of sin for us on the cross, that whoever believes in Jesus Christ receives forgiveness of sins and the free gift of eternal life. Whether we go to heaven or hell after we die all depends on whether we believe in Jesus Christ in this lifetime before we die. The Gospel is also known as the Good News in the Bible. If you want to go to heaven and receive eternal life, then we strongly encourage you to believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you do not believe then we want you to be aware of that fact and make a decision for yourself.
In times like these, we can rely on God's promises, such as the one found in Psalm 34:18 (WEB): "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
God wants to heal your broken heart, but it's crucial to align your thoughts and actions with His will. It's important to remember that the memories you're holding onto are from a past relationship that did not align with God's principles for marriage, especially if you were sexually involved. If you did not marry him then that past relationship was not God's will. Any sex with him before or outside of marriage was fornication, an immoral sin, which we should all repent of and ask God to forgive us of our sins. Fornication and adultery is a sin which occurs in relationships and marriages. Think about how such relationships can work against the Godly principles needed to be focused on.
The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9 (WEB): "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is faithful to those who pray sincerely. If the past relationship was sinful let us first be sure to repent.
To move forward, it's essential to focus on the Lord Jesus and what He is for you now. Give your past to God and trust Him with your future. We advise that any relationship that honors God through marriage as described in the Bible, must be between a man and a woman, be in Jesus' name, and not be soiled with fornication.
Remember also what it says in Philippians 3:13-14 (WEB): "Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having laid hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." The times ahead are likely to get worse as the Bible teaches about the end times across many prophecies, including the one by Timothy in 2 Timothy 3 which clearly explains our sinful societies in which we live today. Let the trials, matters and tribulations of life pale into insignificance as we focus on our future rewards laid up for us in heaven.
Let's pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up Mengan to You. You know the pain and hurt she is feeling. We ask that You heal her broken heart and help her to forgive and forget the past, including the sexual sin, in Jesus' name. Help her turn her attention back to Jesus Christ. Help her to remember the power of belief in Jesus Christ, Lord. Give her strength to press on toward the goal of eternal life in heaven. Help her not to dwell on what she left behind but rather focus on what lies ahead in Jesus Christ. We ask these things in the precious name of Christ. Amen."
Finally, you can seek out your local Church, and ask for a Catholic or Lutheran Pastor to counsel you, in your religious journey with Jesus Christ. If you are not a believer yet, then we strongly encourage you to believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Perhaps start with a proper confession and repentance of your sins. You can also reach out to a Church to seek out Holy Baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit which is administered by a Pastor from a Lutheran or Catholic Denomination. This will help you become born again of water and of the spirit. Some denominations also pray for the holy spirit to be poured out on you in an actualisation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, through prayer in the laying on of hands, but that is optional. The Bible encourages proper Christian baptism to be administered properly in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. This should be administered by a Catholic or Lutheran Pastor.
Also meditate on John 3:3-7 to properly understand the importance of being born of water and of the spirit. Proper understanding of this matter is important.
Catholics and Lutheran denominations have remained in place with much adherence to early Christianity and we therefore recommend asking Pastors of these two churches to help and counsel you as you grow in Jesus Christ.
Remember your final goal is eternal life in heaven and this is your main focus in life as the earth will pass away. Do not be deceived, all relationships are temporary for we are just strangers or pilgrims on this earth, our final destination is heaven. If you are deciding to marry or are married then all that matters is that your earthly family member is already saved in heaven and that you no longer need to convince, or preach to them as they already know the message of Christ. If that is not the case then do not consider such a union. As we need to be courting Christian believers. There are no permanent relationships outside the will of God, or socialising that will distract us from eternal life. Be careful of what you do and who you let in your life to offend or stumble you. Instead focus firstly on renewing or rejuvenating your faith and strengthening your personal relationship with Jesus Christ as the rest will follow.
